Aborigines are Australia’s indigenous people,

with a culture predicted to be approximately

40,000 years old. A conflict between the colonisers and the Aboriginals resulted in a negative stigma of the Aboriginals, a problem which is still present 

today. My book aims to celebrate the Aboriginals 

and their culture. Highlighting their narratives of 

the night sky through the medium of iconography, an important tool with which they communicate. Comprised of three night narratives, each is told through both symbols and written text. The 

engraved logs are used as wayfinding before entering the observatory/planetarium.
